About us
The J and the T
JT Ground Pounders is James and Terry — that's where the name comes from. Two owners, two phones, and nobody in between. When you call, you get one of us, not a dispatcher reading off a screen.
We've been friends since we were kids — going on thirty years — and between us we've got ten years in this line of work. A while back we both quit steady jobs to do this full time, because it's what we actually love doing.
That's the whole reason we show up on time and finish what we start. We live and work right here in Trumbull and Mahoning County — your neighbors are our neighbors, and around here word travels. We'd rather do one job properly than three in a hurry.

Questions
Before you book
How much material do I need?+
Rough rule for mulch: one yard covers about 100 square feet at 3 inches deep. Stone and soil run heavier and depend on the depth you want. Give us your measurements and we'll do the math with you — over-ordering is the most common way people waste money on a delivery.
Do you just dump it, or spread it too?+
Either. Some customers want it dropped in one spot and they'll handle the rest; others want it spread and levelled. Tell us which when you book so we can price it properly.
How much does a delivery cost?+
It comes down to the material, how many yards, and how far we're hauling. Call with those three things and you'll get a delivered price on the spot — no site visit needed for a straight delivery.
Is the on-site estimate really free?+
Yes. For driveways, grading, clearing and haul-off we come out, look at the job, and give you a written price. No fee, no obligation, no pressure to book.
How soon can you deliver?+
Straight material deliveries often go out within a few days. Bigger ground work depends on the schedule and the weather. Tell us your timeline when you book and we'll be straight with you.
Will the truck fit, and will it damage my driveway?+
We run pickup-and-trailer rigs rather than a full tandem, so we get into tighter spots than most. If access is tight or your driveway is a concern, send a photo and we'll tell you honestly before we roll.
Do you handle permits and utility locates?+
We always call in a utility locate before we dig — that's non-negotiable. For demolition we'll tell you up front if the job needs a permit and what's involved, so nothing stalls halfway through.
What can't go in a clean out?+
Paint, chemicals, tires, propane tanks and a few other items have to be disposed of separately by law. Tell us what you've got and we'll sort what we can take from what needs a special trip — no surprises on the day.
Are you licensed and insured?+
Yes, fully. We're happy to send a certificate of insurance before we start, and builders and property managers usually want one on file.
